There’s no other way to describe Corey and Taylor’s Jackson Street Bridge Proposal except pure fun and surprise! Corey reached out to me in May with plans to propose to his longtime girlfriend Taylor. Prior to Covid, he had grandiose plans to pop the question on an international trip — complete with a cameo video of Chris Harrison from ABC’s The Bachelor. While Covid ruined his original plan, Corey was still set on making this proposal memorable and special.
Corey and I began messaging on the down-low to plot the proposal while avoiding any suspicion from Taylor. We ended up settling on Jackson Street Bridge proposal, an extremely popular spot in Atlanta with stunning skyline views in the background, for the big moment. This proposal happened right around the peak of protests and the Black Lives Matter uprisings across the country, Atlanta being one of the many cities participating. We weren’t sure if this spot would be open given all the protests, so I scouted it out and gave the all-clear to Corey to head on down.
Corey told Taylor they were getting graduation photos for his sister who recently graduated from college. Corey started take a solo picture of Taylor since the bridge offers such a pretty backdrop. He pretended to show Taylor the image on his phone and started playing the sweet video from Chris Harrison while his sister passed him the ring. Before she knew it, he was down on one knee, and Taylor was completely surprised! She quickly said yes, completely overjoyed, and as these two lovebirds embraced, the police who were patrolling the area in anticipation of protests began to cheer and honk in celebration with us. At a moment when the city felt very polarized, it was nice to see everyone come together for a celebration of love.
We did another round of photos in true “Bachelor” style with a rose and down on one knee again! It just wouldn’t be a Bachelor-themed proposal without that! And then Corey’s sister joined in for some fun family snaps with the skyline behind them all. After getting all the goods on the bridge, we walked around the neighborhood a bit and did a little mini session of some stunning portraits that just beautifully capture their connection and excitement over the proposal!
