The mountains of North Georgia are enchanting. They’re covered in lush forests, creeks, and lakes. Fortunately, Lindsay and Charlie found a mountain wedding venue, the Ridges Resort, that had it all. Lindsay and Charlie’s fall wedding at the Ridges Resort celebrated the natural beauty of Lake Chatuge.

The Ridges Resort on Lake Chatuge
The Ridges Resort is a mountain wedding venue on Lake Chatuge. Inside the resort, you’ll find a big stone fireplace and a sunny dining room. The warm wood and stone seamlessly bring nature into the interior decor. Choosing a mountain wedding venue that’s also a resort means everything conveniently takes place in one location. From getting ready to the reception, Lindsay and Charlie were able to do it all at the Ridges Resort.

In addition to the comfortable lodgings, the grounds of the Ridges Resort are captivating. The Blue Ridge Mountains rise up all around. If you’re looking for a mountain wedding venue with gorgeous fall colors, the Ridges Resort will not disappoint. Lindsay and Charlie had their first lookin front of a stand of trees in their gold and orange autumn glory.

Since this mountain wedding venue is on Lake Chatuge, ceremonies are held right on the water! The Ridges Resort has a white large dock with a warm wood arbor. The bright spot overlooks the water and the mountains beyond. It’s very picturesque. Dramatic florals look beautiful on the arbor in any season. The brisk breeze and sweeping landscape are breathtaking!

As beautiful as the Ridges Resort is for a wedding, there’s so much more to do all around for nature lovers. People who love to hike and enjoy water sports will find endless opportunities in the region. This region of the Blue Ridge Mountains has waterfalls and petroglyph sites. Rugged wedding guests may even want to camp nearby.

A Romantic Mountain Wedding Venue
I loved photographing Lindsay and Charlie’s mountain wedding for so many reasons. My favorite part, though, was that they trusted me wholeheartedly. I was able to be creative with the images I captured, and I could really tell the story of the day. This is important to me as a wedding photographer because I want to document weddings as they are. When you look back on your wedding photos, you should feel like you’re reliving every moment looking through the galleries!

Lindsay and Charlie were very intentional in choosing their mountain wedding venue. They wanted it to have the feeling of a destination wedding for their friends and family. Keeping the focus on the people closest to them, they wanted to have a great party for everyone! The day was intimate and fun from beginning to end.

The couple leaned into the autumn scenery and chose the theme “fall reds.” Their invitations and signage were made in bold red with gold font. Charlie and his groomsmen wore striking red ties. The timing of the fall wedding really was perfect with all of the trees changing color in the mountains. I really enjoyed photographing the layers of vibrant color. Lindsay’s red curls were extra stunning in the landscape.

Lindsay and Charlie’s Fall Wedding
Lindsay and Charlie’s love story started when they met in college. After only knowing each other for a month, Charlie knew Lindsay was the one. Their love was evident throughout their wedding day. Charlie swept Lindsay into a deep kiss on their way back down the aisle. It was worthy of a romance novel cover!

Aside from the romantic atmosphere of their wedding day, Lindsay and Charlie also have goofy sides. They’re definitely best friends who live a very active lifestyle. Their pup, Kona, is a big part of that! I’m so glad they brought Kona for some portraits. Kona got to walk up the aisle at the ceremony, too.

After the beautiful lakeside ceremony, Lindsay and Charlie got the party started with a lively first dance and sweet parent dances. Their guests had a great time toasting the couple from the dance floor.
