For Atlanta engagement photos, I love to celebrate the city’s beautiful skyline. The Roof at Ponce City Market is the perfect place to do that. The views give so many opportunities for romantic portraits, and Skyline Park keeps things festive. From the champagne toast at sunset to laughs over arcade games, Sammie and Jon’s engagement session was classy and fun.
The Roof at Ponce City Market
Ponce City Market aims to provide a unique luxury experience. It offers modern lofts to rent, a gourmet food hall, and boutiques. The real highlight, as far as engagement photos are concerned, is the roof.
Historic Ponce City Market
I love taking Atlanta engagement photos at the Roof because it’s so different from other venues in the area. The breathtaking views are perfect for taking intimate couples portraits. Champagne is included because who doesn’t want to raise a glass to their fiancé at golden hour?
If you’re looking to make a day of your Atlanta engagement photos, the location is ideal too. Ponce City Market is located in Atlanta’s Fourth Ward neighborhood just across the street from Historic Fourth Ward Park. The views of the skyline are unbeatable. It’s also centrally located in relation to many vibrant neighborhoods including Virginia-Highland, Poncey-Highland, and Midtown.
The Roof at Ponce City Market references the building’s history in many ways. The building sits on top of the site of the Ponce de Leon Springs, rumored in the nineteenth century to have healing powers. Some say you can still see the spring flowing from 12 Cocktail Bar in the tower.
The history and unexpected luxury of the Roof at Ponce City Market imbue it with romance. Whether you’re taking in the views or grabbing a cocktail, you get the feeling that you’re living the good life. This combines perfectly with the polished yet intimate experience I create for my clients.
One of my favorite parts of doing Atlanta engagement photos at the Roof is that you get access to the Roof afterwards. Instead of rushing in and out for photos, we can take our time and sink into the experience.
Skyline Park Atlanta
No Atlanta engagement session at the Roof would be complete without visiting Skyline Park! This vintage-style amusement park embraces playful nostalgia. The park features boardwalk-style games, mini golf, food, and cocktails.
Because it’s inspired by a real amusement park from the early 1900s, Skyline Park feels like stepping back in time. There’s certainly something timeless about a couple flirting over arcade games. As a photographer, I really value that combination of authentic candids and romantic portraits.
Sammie and Jon’s Atlanta Engagement Photos
Sammie and Jon’s Atlanta engagement photos are a celebration of their love. They’re romantic, funny, and fun. I really wanted this session to reflect that. After all, everyone deserves their romantic book cover moment.
As I mentioned before, Sammie and Jon know how to have fun when they’re together. They love playing board games and having picnics. The amusement park games at Skyline Park seemed to be made just for them.
The only thing that could make the evening better wasa champagne toast. Sammie and Jon clinked glasses and enjoyed the romance of golden hour as the sun hit the Atlanta skyline.
