Now called the Ingram House, it is available for wedding preparations. It’s furnished with comfortable couches and has plenty of space for getting ready. The lighting is even lovely for portraits.

After the Ingram family renovated the farmhouse, they turned their attention to the gardens that the venue is now famous for. For generations, the family has had a passion for gardening, and the original owners’ grandson revived his grandparents’ vision as Meadowlark 1939.

The gardens at Meadowlark 1939 are beautiful at any time of year. In the springtime, magnolia trees bloom. You can get lost down little paths that lead to pools and statues perfect for intimate portraits. The Ingrams’ original vision of English-inspired gardens have been fully realized.

Meadowlark 1939 is beautiful in autumn too! The venue strives to put the gardens at the forefront of the wedding experience. Devon and Steven’s fall wedding included a plen air dinner reception under the iconic pecan tree. The 150-year-old tree strung with lights looked like something out of a film.

The floral centerpieces on the table tied in the colors of Devon’s dress as well as the arrangements around the ceremony space. Blues and creams set a soft, romantic tone for the day. Tapered candles on either side of the flowers enhanced the sense of intimacy.

The blue and gold color scheme carried through the entire tablescape. Even the linens tied in the blue floral motif. The place cards, which doubled as menus, coordinated with the cutlery and gold-rimmed plates.

Devon and Steven’s Romantic Garden Wedding

Devon and Steven’s relationship was an international romance. She’s from Canada, while he’s from New York. In normal times, planning an international wedding would be hard enough. Getting engaged during the pandemic made planning that much more difficult as the couple navigated the uncertainty of closed borders.

This style of ceremony and reception ended up suiting Devon and Steven’s style perfectly. Devon is very intentional and detail-oriented in everything she does, and their wedding was no different. Colors, florals, and even linens were carefully chosen to add to the luxurious garden ambience that Meadowlark 1939 has to offer.

Devon’s dress combined blush and blue floral details for a dreamy elegance that fit right in at Meadowlark 1939. The florals echoed the colors of her dress so well that everything felt very custom and one-of-a-kind. Even her Jimmy Choo shoes brought just the right amount of sparkle to the magic of the day.
